Clowney Plans Sketchy

South Pointe defensive end Jadeveon Clowney will travel to Alabama for his visit as planned this weekend but things will be "sketchy" after that. As I reported earlier Tuesday, the FSU visit is not a definite and he has nothing scheduled for the 29th, either. As reported last week, Florida is trying to sneak into the mix and Clowney has been called by new Gator chief Will Muschamp. In addition to the Gators trying to get in the running, Clemson continues their attempts with a call from their new assistant, Marion Hobby, and UNC is making a late run at the All-American, as well. In the "he said, she said" realm, I was told by a player at Goose Creek that, according to Brandon Shell, Clowney told him (Shell) that he (Clowney) was going to be a Gamecock. I still believe that South Carolina is the team to beat and Alabama is going to be the closest competitor. The Florida interest is intriguing but it may be too late in the process to sway the big man from his current pattern of thinking.

I will keep you posted with any updates or new news in the Clowney situation. As always, if you have any questions, feel free to email me at scvarsity@sc.rr.com
